It says on wikipedia (gr8 sauce, i know) that they have more than 1 million tourists per year to come and visit the old city. It doesn't seem a good idea to tear it down.

hahahaha, that sounds AMAZING. i miss desert-scape too. waking up in the simpson desert is the raddest thing ever.
